My kids love dirt cake with gummy worms so I decided to be festive and add pumpkins to resemble a pumpkin patch.
They are FUN and cute for any party or gathering. Adults love them, too.
Then again, what’s not to love….chocolate, candy, and Oreos!
I’m not sure why they call it dirt cake because it’s more of a pudding.
How to Make Dirt Cake with Gummy Worms
- 1 pkg of Oreos
- 8 oz of cream cheese
- 1 stick of butter, softened
- 1 c of powdered sugar
- 3 c of milk
- 1 tub of Cool Whip
- 2 (3 1/2 oz) chocolate instant pudding
- 1 t of vanilla
- Gummy Worms and pumpkin candy
- 12 Clear plastic cups
Crush Oreos in a medium mixing bowl, set aside. Mix together in a medium bowl the butter, sugar, cream cheese and vanilla, set aside. Next, add milk and pudding mix into a mixing bowl and fold in cool whip. Combine pudding and cream cheese mixture and mix well. Layer crumbled cookie mix(1/3 of plastic cup), pudding mix, thin layer of cookie crumbs and another layer of pudding. Top with gummy worms and pumpkins. Chill for 3 hours before serving if you can wait that long. We never can.
There is no right way to layer the mixtures, so just be creative. Often I stick the candies in the middle of the mixture so they look like they are emerging from the dirt.
