I do believe that we can believe the Word of God, live a Christian life, serve others, etc., etc., without being fully satisfied with Jesus. I am not talking about having the blues in times of trouble BUT really being satisfied with Christ everyday. As I was reading my devotion this morning, Beth Moore put it simply: If you want to tell the whole world about Jesus Christ then you are satisfied with Him. AMEN! Do you remember the feeling when you were first baptized?? For me, I wanted to tell strangers, my children, my family and everyone that cross my path the peaceful feeling I felt from Him. It was so uplifting to know that I was His. If you don’t feel that joy, excitement then you need to quench your thirst and hunger with the His Word.

What does the word satisfaction mean to you? I was thinking on the lines of ~ average, just ok, just getting by. In Isaiah 55:2, according to Strong’s, the Hebrew word meaning satisfy is sob’ah which means to have enough.

Come, all you who are thirsty, come to the waters; and you who have no money, come, buy and eat! Come, buy wine and milk without money and without cost.

Why spend money on what is not bread, and your labor on what does not satisfy? Listen, listen to me, and eat what is good, and your soul will delight in the richest of fare. Isaiah 55:1-2

I have to admit I don’t always seek God first in time of trouble….Sometimes I seek the Internet, buy something on impulse, or just sit and pout. Whatever I seek instead of going to God in prayer is only a short-lived fix. I really know that God is the eternal fix. I just need to practice what I preach!! I think that I just want instant results. Do you want instant, short-lived satisfaction or long-term gratification with the only thing that is eternal or ever-lasting?
