How to Maintain and Clean Your Bathroom in less than 5 Minutes per Day

The real truth is…I hate cleaning.

There are so many other things that I would like to be doing than cleaning my home especially since my time is limited. I’m a single mom that works several jobs and I have a lot of little peeps. I’m not complaining, but I simply don’t like cleaning tasks.

I’ve come up with a How to Maintain and Clean Your Bathroom in less than 5 minutes per day routine.

In fact, it’s so simple that you can have your children maintain and clean their bathrooms while you do yours. Just make it a routine.

Set your timer and get moving.

Learn how to clean and maintain your bathroom in less than 5 minutes per day. The challenge is on.

Minute One

Pour your favorite toilet cleaner in the toilet and let it sit until the last-minute. I always check to make sure there is no crud on the seat or around the base of the toilet. I have five boys, so you can only imagine. I use a toilet brush and always pour a drop of disinfectant in the brush holder. It works like a charm.

Minute Two

Pick up every item of clothing off the ground and put in the laundry basket. Clear off any items on the counter and put it in its place. This includes your flat-iron, make up, and hair accessories. I keep my make up in a travel bag and store it under the sink. This makes it super easy to travel with on the weekends.

Minute Three

Change out bath towels, hand towels, and make sure there is soap in shower and sink. Ditch the bar soap due to the enormous mess it creates and use liquid soap. You can buy liquid soap that smells nice at the dollar store.

Learn how to clean and maintain your bathroom in less than 5 minutes per day. The challenge is on.

Minute Four

Wipe down bathtub/shower and sink with disinfectant wipes. I store these underneath the sink in all bathrooms. I never use more than one wipe per day. Keep a magic eraser handy too.

Minute Five

I use this minute to wipe down the fixtures and swirl the brush in the toilet. Once a week, I skip the fixture and toilet swirl and clean the floor with my favorite Swiffer.

Once you get in a routine, you will only need to deep clean your bathroom about once a month. If you are going to train your children this simple bathroom cleaning routine, make sure you show them how to do it properly. It might take a week for them to master this chore, but it will be worth it in the long run.

Be sure to check out how I organized the bathroom for under 15.00. I still use this system today. Also, teach your kids at a young age to sort their laundry with these free printables signs.

I challenge you to use this easy system on How to Maintain and Clean Your Bathroom in less than 5 Minutes per Day.
