How to Save $1,000 Quickly

Well, you have hit that point in your life where adulting is telling you that you need to save. Or, maybe you have a bill, something you want to get, or a trip coming up. Either way, saving $1,000 really isn’t that hard, but you have to know how.

We are diligently working on paying my medical bills from this past spring.

It’s a slow process, but we are working towards being debt free before the year is up.

Follow these few tips and find out how to save $1000 quickly.

How to Save $1,000 Quickly

Pay off Debt

Before you can even begin to start saving, you need to get your debts paid off. When you have credit card debts and bills coming out at all times throughout the month, it can be difficult to start saving money.

Start with your smallest debt and get it paid off then work your way up to paying off the other debts by adding a little extra to each payment. We add 25.00 or so to my car payment every month.

Open a Bank Account

Several banks will offer you $200 or more just to open a bank account with them. You may have to keep a certain balance in there, or you may have to keep the account open for 3-6 months. If you follow their criteria, you can score free money for basically doing nothing.

Find bank promotions, here.

Open a Savings Account

The first step in saving is opening that savings account. Start putting $5 per payday in there and increasing it gradually. You could also go with savings apps that will automatically save for you like Digit or Acorns.

Start a Side Hustle

Just because you have a full-time job and limited time doesn’t mean you can’t make some extra cash on the side. The real way to make $1,000 quickly is to get in the game with your side hustle. I started my blog in 2012 and it almost immediately started making income. I’m so thankful that I have a supplemental income because nobody is going to get rich being a third-grade teacher.

Here are a few things you can do to make that $1,000 fast:

Take surveys: You can take surveys in your spare time watching movies or hanging with the family.

Here are a few:

  • Spring Board America
  • Toluna
  • Swagbucks
  • Pincone Research
  • Vindale Research

Write for Blogs: If you have a knack for writing, you can make some good money writing blog posts for other people. Here are a few places to get started:

  • Fiverr
  • Bird Channel
  • Dollar Stretcher
  • Textbroker

Do Freelance work: There are tons of people that need help from people just sitting at home. Check out some of the places you can offer your services:

  • Upwork
  • Freelancer
  • Toptal

Most people don’t realize that it’s easier to make money than to save money. It takes a whole lot of discipline to pull savings off. Thanks a lot for this insightful information.

    Cheers!

Thanks for this really informational article, there was a time around 2017 when i was fully involved in survey taking. I had about 10 survey sites on my lists that pays well. I was able to realize $3000 from surveys within a year which i eventually used in setting up better online business.
