I adore making a simple cheese ball during the holidays. They are always a hit and tend to make plenty for a crowd.

I like to experiment with different ingredients when making a cheese ball. Depending on who I am making it for, will depend on the ingredients. I love spicy.

This simple cheese ball recipe is the one that I bring when I know there will be children attending the affair. It’s very mild, but addicting. It has just the right amount of sweetness to it. My kids love it.

How to Make a Simple Cheese Ball

  • 2 8 oz of cream cheese, softened
  • 8 oz of pineapple tidbits, drained well
  • 4 T of onion, finely chopped
  • 1/2 c of green pepper, chopped
  • 2 T of garlic, minced
  • salt and pepper to taste
  • 2 c of pecans or walnuts, chopped

In a medium bowl, combine cream cheese, pineapple, onion, green pepper, garlic, and seasoning. Mix well until blended. Either roll into one or two balls. You can freeze the second one for a later date. Roll in chopped nuts to coat. Wrap in plastic wrap and refrigerate.

Serve with crackers, veggies, or pita chips.

Serves 15.

TIP: Make sure you drain the pineapple well.

My all time favorite cheese ball I make for every holiday contains blue cheese. It’s divine, but my kiddos are not too keen on it.
