Next week is Home Education Week here in the blogosphere.  The week will be filled with encouraging words to help all home educators in their home school ministry that God has called them to do.  I urge you to participate and absorb all the wonderful blessings and ideas that us home school educators have to offer one another.  Of course, it’s not always a piece of cake, to say the least, but I feel it is a privilege to educate my children from a biblical view not a worldly view.  It’s a huge step of faith. I choose to teach my children from a Godly stand point that tends not to be conforming to the secular world education.  I want the Holy Spirit to guide our home school, Climbing the Mountain, not the state guidelines or agenda that have been set forth for each grade level.  Each one of my children are unique and I value and teach them as an individual.  My goal is not to have them score high on some achievement test, but to train them to be disciples.  Of course, I highly feel academics are important, but try hard not to make the hard core subjects our main focus each day.  Admittedly, most days I need to stop and remember why we have been called to educate our children at home.  Often my priorities are out of order.  Easily, Satan can attack me and I strive for academic perfection from my boys.  I am constantly stumbling in this area of our home school.  I am pleading for guidance from the Holy Spirit to completely guide our home school each day.   I want my boys to strive for excellence in all governments of life.  My goal is to plant the seeds and have them grow spiritually and academically to teach others the Word of God.  I am unable to see the whole picture, but little sprouts are starting to pop up.  And that is so rewarding in itself.

It is also National Peanut Butter and Jelly Day! So share a recipe…figuratively, as in two parts love, one part creativity, or literally, as in a super quick, nutritious meal your kids scarf up. Think about what you do in the day, what helps keep it organized and you sane (or how you got past that need for organization and saneness!), and curriculum materials you find effective.
