I could not think of a more FUN and CREATIVe way to learn to count and number recognition than with play dough.

My four-year old has so much fun with these. She already knows how to count, but she still has difficulty with number recognition.

So, these activity play dough mats are perfect and keep her busy during St. Patrick’s Day season.

There are (20) play dough mats consisting of an empty pot of gold with a number (1-20). Your child is to make a gold pieces and fill the pot with  the correct amount of pieces,

How to Make Your Own Gold Play dough for St. Patrick’s Day Play Dough Mats

  • 2 cups of Water
  • 2 cups of Flour
  • 1 cup of salt
  • 4 T of Cream of Tarter
  • 2 T of Canola or Vegetable Oil
  • Vanilla (the more you add, the better it smells)
  • Yellow Food Coloring (optional)
  • gold glitter (optional)

Place all ingredients except vanilla, glitter and food coloring in a medium sauce pan. Heat on medium until mixture congeals by folding the dough in pan. Once congealed into a dough substance, fold in the food coloring and vanilla until mix throughly. Place playdo on wax paper to cool. Knead until proper consistency. Just print the pages and laminate them and watch our children have FUN learning to count.
