I am in an extremely busy time in my life, so time is always in short supply. I am also in the middle of a move, so I have part of my kitchen packed up. This is possible because I utilize my handy crock pot for a lot of our meals.

Feeding my family healthy meals is also really important to me, but I don’t have a lot of time to spend in the kitchen most days. I love being able to put the ingredients for our dinner in the crock pot in the morning and go about my work for the day without doing the last-minute, what’s-for-dinner scramble.

  1. My current favorite is the pork chops with apples in them, add a little apple juice and chopped onions, and cook in slow on crockpot! Viola! yummy dinner!

  2. What a great collection of books – I’m especially interested in the Fix-It and Forget-It Big Cookbook. I love meals that will cook themselves while I’m busy doing other things.

    I got a number of crock pots when my mom passed, and I’ve used them a couple of times, but really need more recipes I can use in them. I’ll have to check out these books – and buy one or two (perhaps more over time). With the heat of summer not far away, using the oven isn’t the best thing during the hot summer days, and I’d love to be able to set up dinner in the morning and not have to worry about it until time to eat.

    I use my slow cooker often ( right now I have a pork tenderloin roast in it as we speak) . Although a good cookbook is nice to have I have found that just about anything I want to cook I can find hundreds of great recipes online. So instead of buying cookbooks I can spend the money cooking meals that I would not be able to afford had I spent the money on a cookbook.

  78. I love to cook with my crockpot I think it’s simply the best go to when you just feel like throwing everything into one pot and leaving and it’s all done withing a few hours or so.

    I have a version of the fix it and forget it cookbook. I don’t use it much only because it doesn’t have picture. I’ve found I use cookbooks with pictures more often. So it would be great if the one on this list has pictures.

    You really cant go wrong using a crock pot. Those things are the best invention since sliced bread! Busy people can just add the ingredients in the morning, go about your busy day, come home, dinner is ready. I love mine, and it gets a lot of use.
