5 Reasons Why Every Mom Needs a Mom’s Night Out!

This is a sponsored post written on behalf of Swiffer. All opinions are my very own.

Being a mom is more than a full-time job.

It’s a 24/7 job.

Rain or Shine.

Tired or well-rested.

We are on mom duty.

Don’t get me wrong, it’s incredibly rewarding on most days, but sometimes I feel like I want to run away by myself to a sunny beach and drink fruity beverages.

Not forever, but just for a night or two.

Since a sunny beach is nowhere near this mama, I look forward to a Mom’s Night Out once a month. It rejuvenates and encourages me every time I meet up with my friends.

I remember back in the days when I had little babies, I would feel a bit guilty leaving the house for a even few hours so I could simply take off my mom hat and enjoy some much-needed adult conversation.

Why do we mothers so often feel guilty for having some girl time with other like-minded women? It’s not like our children don’t have playdates, right?

I’m going to come out and just say it…

Get OVER it!

No Excuses!

Here are the 5 Reasons Every Mom Needs a Mom’s Night Out

  1. You need to be reminded that there are restaurants other than Chick-fil-A on this planet.
  2. Every once in a while you need to be reminded of what your birth name is.

  3. A bottle of wine always tastes better with friends than by yourself.
  4. You need to have a reason to wear makeup and something other than yoga pants.
  5. An hour with your girlfriends is so much cheaper than an hour with a therapist.

A night out with the girls doesn’t have to be fancy or cost an arm or a leg, It’s just about getting together with other like-minded women who get the real you.

We all need friends to vent to at times. I’m not talking about bashing your husbands but simply sharing your everyday burdens. I always love to ask other moms how they would handle a certain situation that I’m currently dealing with at home. We need to support one another in this motherhood journey.

A few weeks ago, one of the girls at the gym told me she just couldn’t manage to keep her house clean because of the lack of time. She was fretting.

She’s a single working mom, too.

So, I had a brilliant idea. (Imagine that?)

I planned a Mom’s Night Out and decided to share my favorite Swiffer products with my friends. Swiffer is a life saver for me. It makes cleaning much quicker, and should I say, more tolerable. With Swiffer, you can live in a clean house without spending your life cleaning it.

Not to mention my kids love to clean up with Swiffer products.

I felt I needed a valid reason to serve cupcakes at our Mom’s Night Out. Low and behold, it’s Swiffer’s 18th birthday this month. Cupcakes and chocolate were a perfect way to celebrate Swiffer’s birthday.

I decorated the house with lots of Swiffer products and asked each person to bring a bottle of their favorite wine for a tasting.

All I had to do is mention Swiffer and wine, and my friends were knocking on my door. I also told them one lucky bestie would get to take home the ‘infamous green’ Swiffer box.

I demonstrated how to properly use each Swiffer product. Amika had a blast fluffing the Swiffer duster before she tested how well the Swiffer duster picks up the dust.  Also, I kinda bragged that keeping a Swiffer duster in your car console is a tremendous idea. I tend to have a habit of dusting the inside of my van in the carpool line.

Shh, stop laughing. It really works well for me. In fact, I’ve had several moms envy my dust-free van.

Another Swiffer secret I squealed about was that it’s important that you use the Swiffer Dry Sweeper in an “S” pattern on the floor. Of course, they all asked me if there was a true difference between Swiffer and off-brand products. I told them I personally did a test, and I was amazed at the results.

We all had fun giggling and talking about our busy lives as moms. Oh, did I mention we listened to some cool tunes, too. We all can’t wait to meet again next month.

Since you were not able to join our Mom’s Night Out last weekend, I am giving away (1) Green Swiffer box full of goodies to one busy mom. I encourage you to use the Swiffer products to prepare for a fun Mom’s Night Out next month. Keep it simple and clean with Swiffer.

I will be picking a random winner April 2nd at 11:59 PM. Fill out the form below for lots of entries to win this AWESOME green Swiffer box of goodies. All entires will be verified.

A fun MNO out event would be drinks, apps and karaoke.

Going to an Italian restaurant, having great food and drink, laughing until you close the place down for the night!

  3. Sorry no Mom’s Night Out here, I think it is fun to go out of town for Dr. app. and shop new places. Maybe someday I will have a Mom’s Night Out.

  4. Jennifer Krolick says:

Mom’s night out…. hmmm, the closest thing I can think of is that I will be attending the Classical Conversations Parent Practicum with a friend and they have the kids in little separate groups :). Other ideas, maybe just a nice walk in nature with a few friends would be great.

  5. Jennie T says:

It would be fun to just go out for dinner and talk to big people lol

  6. Michele Cupp says:

Mom’s night out might include wine tasting or maybe a hardcore shopping trip with friends.

  7. Carolyn G says:

I wish I could do a MNO but since I had my youngest all my friends disappeared. I know I’m not the only mom to experience this, so a book , bubble bath and wine work good too. I do love stiffer products, wish I was closer to come to your party!

You are exactly right! I try to meet up with a girlfriend at least bi-weekly!

  9. elisabeth sinthavong says:

  11. Cheryl B says:

We love to take in a dinner and movie once a month.

  12. My favorite GNO is when my best friend and I get our nails done, then head to dinner and/or a movie. Maybe a little shopping afterwards.
