11 Popular Fitness DVDs to Help Lose Weight

I’m a member of a gym, but sometimes I just can’t make it work in my schedule to stop by the gym on my way home from teaching.

Being a single mom, certainly doesn’t put me off the hook to not take care of myself from a physical standpoint. I admit there are some days I just want to go home and encourage my kids to eat a bowl of cereal for dinner while I veg with a book. Maybe I should rephrase that last statement and say…most days.

Not some days.

I’m just being real.

My kids tend to motivate me when my gym days don’t work out for me.

At times, it’s fun for the kids to work out with me in the living room. They usually give up after the first 10 minutes, but it makes me feel energized to know that I’m instilling the importance of exercising on a daily basis into my little ones mind.

Sometimes I like to go for a walk in the neighborhood, but when the weather doesn’t permit, I love to have a variety of workout DVD’s.

The key is…a variety.

Here are some workout DVDs that I own and a few on my wish list. I encourage you to read the reviews to see which ones are right for you. Some are harder workouts than others, but all will encourage healthy weight loss. All of these workout dvd’s are popular on Amazon with great reviews.

There’s nothing worse than being bored with your workout. I know if it’s not FUN, I will have a tendency to skip my workout all together.

I recommend working the same DVD for a week and then switch off after you established your favorite ones. It’s always fun to have a variety especially if time is an issue.

  9. I LOVE Leslie Sansone’s workouts! I always know I’ll get a good workout & there won’t be a high learning curve. Plus, it’s easy to adjust the intensity. I just discovered 10 Minute Prenatal Pilates during my pregnancy last year, and it was a lifesaver. I couldn’t do any cardio most of my pregnancy, but I could do 10 or 20 minutes of pilates. I’m looking forward to trying the regular 10 Minute Pilates now! Thank you for this list!
